I’m posting this for the Wedding Blog Hop.

We just celebrated our 2 year anniversary on Monday!

So our wedding wasn’t a lavish event. It was something we talked about on and off for years but were never formally engaged. We decided Memorial Day weekend, two years ago that we wanted to get married. To be honest with you all we had a brief break up & once we got back together we immediately decided to get married. While that break up was difficult at the time I’m actually grateful for it. It made us closer than ever, more in love than ever, and a stronger couple. So Memorial Day we went to the mall and bought our rings. We weren’t going to tell anyone we were getting married. Our plan was to go off to Tahoe (our favorite place) for the weekend and get hitched and tell everyone once we were back. Well, like 10 days before the wedding we started feeling major guilt and sent out a mass email to everyone (classy, I know.) telling them our plan and they’re more than welcomed to join us that day if they’d like and no hard feelings if they couldn’t make it. So we planned and scrammed around every day after work to get all the little things you need to get married, you know like a dress, shoes etc…

So this is our wedding, June 14th, 2008. That was thrown together in just about two weeks time. And I have to tell you this little thrown together wedding was absolutely perfect for us. Friends and Family came, we all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and it will be a fond memory forever.

Me. I made that little bouquet myself. It even had a tiny little hidden Hello Kitty on it. I wish I looked like this every day. I was tan and in the best shape of my life.

My Handsome Groom.

Why yes, that is someone wearing a tuxedo t-shirt to our wedding. A group of our guy friends thought that was a great idea. They all wore those, and we LOVED it. We thought it was hilarious, and that is just one more reason why I loved that day. I loved that we are the type of couple that encourage our friends to be ridiculous even at our own wedding. After the wedding we all had dinner at the Riva Grill & then headed out for a night of shenanigans & debauchery at the casinos.

Proof: we and our guests had an awesome night. We had so many people tell us that it was the funnest wedding they had ever been to. It was a great time. Just look at those pictures!

We even had a first dance. On the stage of the casino while a cover band sang Billy Idol’s “White Wedding” to us. And it was awesome! The entire casino was watching us. Thank god I was drunk, otherwise that would’ve been a bit much for me to handle!

For those of you reading that aren’t married yet… I just want to say that this is proof that you do not need $30,000 to have an amazingly awesome, memorable day. While it is nice to have, it’s certainly not completely necessary.
