One of the wonderful things about living where we do is that the Beautiful, Lake Tahoe, is just a little under two hours away from us.  One of my ‘Summer Goals’ was to take MJ there for his first time.  So Friday my Hubs took the day off work (which I’m still trying to figure out HOW that even happened. The guy NEVER takes a day off work. He’s totally the asshole that shows up with strep throat & still does more work than you while he’s infecting you with his illness.)

We went up there to FINALLY get a copy of our marriage license, ya know… TWO years later.  Well, that was easy and took like five minutes and then we headed to Fire + Ice for lunch.  That’s pretty much when the trip took a turn for the worse.  MJ had to sit in a booster seat and then never ends well. He was SUPER amped to be in Tahoe ’cause he was acting crazy, a level of crazy I’ve never really experienced with him before.  So the hubs and I took our turns making food and waiting for it to be grilled, while watching baby Gary Busey (seriously, he was being THAT crazy).  Towards the end of the meal he was trying to sit on top of the table whilst doing anything he could to get his little fat fingers on the bottle of soy sauce to dump out. You know how he loves his soy sauce!

It got to the point of past embarrassing so we ended up leaving, without a full tummy.  We walked around for a bit and then headed over to the lake.  I forgot all of our bathing suits and I was wearing jeans! Yep, I was totally the lady at the lake wearing JEANS! I hated myself. I would’ve loved to have gone out for a dip in the lake. This was the first time I’ve ever been to Tahoe when the water was warm. It had to have been record breaking, My husband couldn’t believe it. SO many people out swimming in it.  Usually it’s freezing!

This video is really bad, shaky blair witchedness going on. But, I just wanted to show you guys how much HE LOVED Lake Tahoe, well the actual lake part at least.  He was genuinely pissed off when we took him out of the water.

Overall, Lake Tahoe can really not be a bad time.  But, it would have been nice to stay longer than three hours and to have actually swam in the lake. Oh well….
