This isn’t traditional Hummus dip, because I chose to opt out on the Tahini paste that is usually found in hummus dip.  Frankly it was just too expensive for me & it was sold in a somewhat large can & I would just never use all of it.

Ingredients:

  • 150z can of chickpeas/garbanzo beans
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • a palm full of sesame seeds
  • any of your favorite spices
  • salt/pepper
  • olive oil
  • Parmesan cheese

what next:

  • I really like garlic but, if you want a more mild version I’d only use two cloves.
  • put garlic cloves and sesame seeds into the food processor until completely chopped.
  • drain almost all of the garbanzo beans, leaving a little juice & put into food processor as well.
  • next begin adding your favorite spices ( i just used an all spice type of thing.) & salt & pepper to taste.
  • add approximately a half cup to whole cup of parmesan cheese. really just to the consistency you like.
  • as everything is mixing and chopping and coming together in the food processor beginning streaming in olive oil through the top of the processor.  Do this until you get to a consistency you enjoy.
  • taste it and anything you think it may be missing or scoop it out into a serving bowl.

I enjoy serving this with pita chips & vegetables like cucumber slices or carrot sticks.
