I think one of the best ways to get your blog out there is to comment on other peoples blogs.  Thats been the consensus pretty much.  Unless you’re one of the lucky one’s where some how you have 2500 followers with no real networking done on your part.  That’s awesome!

Bloggers, I have a question for you.

Where are you getting most of your traffic from? Incoming links, a certain blog registry, facebook, twitter, top baby blogs? I’m just curious. I think this could be a good discussion, and a great learning tool for some bloggers that are just starting out.  I don’t need to know numbers, I’m not that nosey. But, if you’d like to share that you are more than welcomed to.

My biggest referrer was Top Baby Blogs. But, after this reset I opted to not ask for votes. So, I think that being my top referral source will be a thing of the past. Now, Twitter seems to be where the majority of my traffic comes from.  I cancelled my Facebook profile awhile back but, that was also one of my main sources.  I’ve been contemplating starting a fan page for this blog but, to be honest I feel really silly doing it. Like I’m some sort of bad ass or something, when clearly… I am not.

There are so many wonderful things about blogging.  I read some great blogs. I read a lot of blogs of parents who of course talk about their children and their milestones. Because why wouldn’t they? I sure as shit do.  But but but…. I can’t help but sometimes, measure up what Milo is doing to these other kids I read about.

Your kid is walking? Mine just speed crawls.

Your kid can count to three? Mine doesn’t even know where his fingers are.

Your kid can do a one handed cart-wheel? Well fuck you. Go join the Olympics or something and be a crazy stage-sports parent OK!

I know there are things that MJ does that other kids his age don’t do. BUT, sometimes it’s hard to remember that when you read about all these awesome things these kiddos are up to.

I think I will have to break the weekend down into several blog posts so I don’t get frazzled and forget things I’d like to mention from our nutty little weekend away.

Mercer and I were discussing how great blogs are this morning. They really are.  There literally is a blog for everything you could think of.  My Hubs is a blog dork like I am. He has a crap load of blogs he reads and in the mornings on the weekends I look at some of them with him and sometimes there is really great, funny, or interesting stuffs on them.  I’ve convinced him, if he ever has time again, to start his own blog one day. It’s just something fun to do.  I enjoy it.
