One of the wonderful things about living where we do is that the Beautiful, Lake Tahoe, is just a little under two hours away from us. One of my ‘Summer Goals’ was to take MJ there for his first time. So Friday my Hubs took the day off work (which I’m still trying to figure out HOW that even happened. The guy NEVER takes a day off work. Read the rest of this entry…

Sunday we got up, through our crap into the suit case and go the hell out of L.A. By this point we were seriously missing Milo and wishing we could just teleport ourselves home! The drive was stupid-long and took 6hrs. I was cranky and sad cause I wanted my lil babe and that made me be a super bitch for probably 4 out of the 6 hours of driving. Lucky Mercer!
Getting to my sisters to see Milo was the best part of the weekend. Especially after she downloaded me on their weekend. He was an angel and barely cried. My fears of him thinking we abandoned him were not his reality and that made me so happy. She had nothing but great things to say about their weekend and that made me really happy. He honestly just gave me like a little smile when he saw me and that was it! I guess I was expecting him to jump up and do cart-wheels or something!
Over-all I had a really great time and I think Milo had a great time playing with his Auntie Heather, and cousins over the weekend. I’m glad I ended up leaving him cause now I know that I can have a life aside from life as a mother. Good times, Great Baby, and the Husband isn’t so bad either I guess!

Friday Morning we dropped Milo off at Heather’s house and then got on the road to Los Angeles just a few minutes before 6am. We were going to take turns driving there and back but I decided I didn’t want to risk getting pulled over with Mercer driving cause he has more traffic tickets than any individual should have within a year. So I figured it would be better if I just drove.
The drive there was pretty fast, just over 5 hours. But Oh-so-boring. At times I felt as though I was trapped in a less than desirable Bob Ross Painting.
After we got to our Hotel we got ready and headed out to Culver City for the Hello Kitty 35th Anniversary Exhibit @
The Royal/T Cafe. This was the very last weekend the exhibit was there and I’m kinda bummed we missed out on a lot. Some of the exhibit was already taken down and more was being taken down when we were there. The pop-up shop of exclusives was picked over pretty good as well. I really wanted a Three Apples shirt and they were sold out. And I fell in love with a TokiDoki purse I saw behind the counter but those were apparently employees purses that they had already purchased. But, overall it was a great time/experience. Mercer said that he had a new admiration for Hello Kitty after coming to this with me. There was really amazing work on display there. You can see some of it on my facebook page. Husband snapped a bazillion pictures!

Oh yeah another cool thing was right when I walked in I noticed Maria of Hello Kitty Junkie with some of her friends. I LOVE her blog and I had to introduce myself. I immediately was embarassed and Mercer made fun of me for it. But, I know he would do the same if he saw one of his favorite bloggers. So whatevs. She was super nice and I was glad I said Hello.
I loved the exhibit and it was even radder cause it was held at a tea cafe. I got the most intensely delicious green tea I’ve ever tasted. I also got a reversible three apples tote and a few key chains.
After that we headed over to Melrose to do some shopping. That was a good time as well. We went into the Johnny Cupcakes store (my sole reason for heading to Melrose in the first place) and his store was really pretty awesome. But, I knew it would be. Not too much merch but the experience was neat. There was a wall of oven doors and they would randomly open and steam would come out of them. Cute stuff. We visited some really awesome stores and I was sad that I didn’t have more money to blow. But I already felt like I was being really spoiled. We did some more shopping and then headed back to the Hotel.
Super exhausted from the day but we drug our asses out to Ketchup for dinner. Mainly because I felt as though this was the only chance of the weekend to rock my super hot new jacket that was an early birthday gift from my in-laws. I am celeb obsessed and really only went to this restaurant because I’ve seen it on a few reality shows. Honestly it was nothing special. It was like eating in a cafeteria. We were super close to the other guests and I mostly sat and listened to other peoples convos cause I am that nosey and it was pretty hard not to. Especially cause Mercer can be a bit hard of hearing in louder atmospheres and I wasn’t trying to yell to him over the entire course of dinner. Food was good for the most part. Pretty ridic that we paid $6 for a PBR that was left in the can for Mercer to drink out of! Our main entrees were absolutely delicious and were totally worth the price. We got dessert to go and went back to the Hotel and chilled out and went to sleep. End of Day Uno!
